Frequently Asked Questions.
Everything you need to know about custom builds, repairs, timelines and getting started.
How long does a custom build take?
Build times vary depending on component availability and current schedule. You'll receive a specific timeline after your initial consultation so there are no surprises once your build slot is secured.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A deposit secures your build slot and covers component ordering. It ensures your materials are reserved and your place in the build queue is held.
Can I choose specific components?
Yes. Component selection is part of what makes a custom rod custom. Blanks, guides, wraps, handle materials, and hardware are all discussed during the build conversation — nothing is chosen without your input.
How do I start a custom build?
Begin by submitting the Custom Build form. The process starts with a conversation - about how you fish, what you're chasing, and what you need the rod to do. Everything follows from there.
Do you ship rods nationwide?
Yes. Completed rods are shipped securely throughout the United States - from the Gulf Coast to the Pacific, the Atlantic seaboard to the Great Lakes. Packaging is handled to match the quality of the build.
What type of repairs do you handle?
Guide replacement, tip repair, re-wraps, cork work, and structural evaluation. Each repair is assessed individually - the right approach is confirmed before any work begins.
How do I know if my rod can be repaired?
Submit a repair assessment with photos of the damage. Next steps will be confirmed before you ship anything - you'll know exactly what's involved and what to expect before committing to the repair.
Do you repair factory rods?
Yes, when repair is structurally viable. Factory rods are evaluated the same way as custom rods - if the blank is sound and the repair makes sense, it gets done right.
