Where a build lands in its range comes down to the blank, the components and how much custom wrap work it carries.

Most builds take one to four weeks. The variable is component availability — if the blank and guides are on hand it moves quickly, and if something has to be ordered it runs longer. You'll have a specific timeline once the spec is settled.

Half up front, half when the rod is finished. The deposit covers component ordering and holds your place in the build queue.

Yes. Component selection is part of what makes a custom rod custom. Blanks, guides, wraps, handle materials and hardware are all discussed during the build conversation — nothing is chosen without your input.

Begin by submitting the Custom Build form. The process starts with a conversation — about how you fish, what you're chasing, and what you need the rod to do. Everything follows from there.

Guide replacement, tip repair, re-wraps, cork work and structural evaluation. Each repair is assessed individually — the right approach is confirmed before any work begins.

Guide replacement is $40 to remove and replace, plus the cost of the guide. A tip repair is $20 plus the tip. Larger work — re-wraps, cork, structural repairs — is quoted once Rod has seen photos.

About a week once it's in Rod's hands. Rush jobs can sometimes be accommodated for an added fee — ask when you send the request.

Yes, when repair is structurally viable. Factory rods are evaluated the same way as custom rods — if the blank is sound and the repair makes sense, it gets done right.

Yes. Completed rods are shipped securely throughout the United States — from the Gulf Coast to the Pacific, the Atlantic seaboard to the Great Lakes. Packaging is handled to match the quality of the build.

If a rod fails because of Rod's workmanship, he'll repair it — for as long as you own the rod. Breakage from accidents, misuse or ordinary wear isn't covered, but send photos and he'll tell you what he sees. You cover shipping.
